Founder: Glenn W. Edwards
Born in 1876, Glenn was only 49 years of age when he started Pico Rents as a medical supply store. Later he decided to add some party supplies to the list of supplies offered. Up until 1997, Pico Rents was handling what was then called 'sick room' supplies and party supplies in the same location. What a combo!
2nd Generation: William H. Edwards
Born in 1917, William was the class president at Hollywood High and later a pilot in the Airforce in his early 20's. In 1958, William inherited Pico Rents when his father passed away. 9 years later in 1967, William passed away at only 49 years old.
That's when his wife, Irene Edwards inherited the company.
3rd Generation Owners- William, Penny and Donald Edwards
Soon after 1967 the 3 children of Irene and William Edwards had slowly taken over Pico Rents. They realized the party side of the business outgrew their location therefore in 1997, Pico Rents had split up to become separate entities called Pico Medical and Pico Party. Pico Medical stayed in the same location on Crescent Heights Blvd and Pico Blvd, while Pico Party sourced a larger building.
Kimberly - 4th Generation Owner
Serving the Los Angeles community for almost 100 years in the same location has been one of the biggest accomplishments I have ever had the opportunity to continue. I am proud to be the 4th generation owner of my family's business created by my Great Grandfather.
As a mother of 3, I strive for independence and growth both within the home and in the company. I guide my daughters when and where I can to provide them the proper tools in order to be successful in taking over the business to be 5th generation owners and to continue serving the Los Angeles community as medical equipment specialists.
